Country legend Clint Black to headline Indy Public Safety Foundation fundraiser

An Indianapolis nonprofit supporting first responders announced a pair of noted country acts will lead its annual benefit concert.

Country music’s Clint Black and trio Midland will headline the Indy Public Safety Foundation’s annual Frontline fundraiser at Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park on Oct. 9. The concert is the organization’s signature fundraising event benefitting Indianapolis police, firefighters, paramedics and other first responders.

Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. June 5 at Ticketmaster.com.

The foundation launched Frontline in 2017, but the event didn’t become a benefit concert until 2024. Country singer Clayton Anderson, an Indiana native and namesake of Clayton’s Country Bar in downtown Indianapolis, led the inaugural bill with Dane Clark Band. Black and Midland follow last year’s Frontline headliners Kansas — a former Indiana State Fair act — and Jefferson Starship.

Indy Public Safety Foundation funnels money toward training, equipment, tools and other needs not outlined in the budget for Indianapolis’ 4,000 first responders, according to a news release.

Black is one of country’s most accomplished acts with 13 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot Country chart and a Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for the song “Same Old Train,” a 1998 release that Black performed with a host of fellow country and folk artists like Emmylou Harris, Travis Tritt and Earl Scruggs. Midland is best known for the hit “Drinkin’ Problem,” and the has become a modern country favorite.
