DUPLAIN TWP. – An Elsie-area man was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Clinton County’s Duplain Township Monday evening, June 1, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office said.
The 34-year-old Elsie man died at the scene on North Hollister Road, south of French Road, and north of the village of Ovid, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Dan Spitzley said in a release.
Two women, both in separate vehicles, as well as “several” passengers, were transported to the University of Michigan Sparrow Hospital for treatment with serious injuries, the release said.
Deputies were dispatched to the crash at about 8:40 p.m. Monday, the release said, where three vehicles were involved.
The 34-year-old man was southbound on Hollister Road when his vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and struck a vehicle driven by a 34-year-old Elsie-area woman, Spitzley said.
A second northbound vehicle, driven by a 41-year-old Elsie-area woman, also was struck.
The 34-year-old Elsie man was the lone occupant of his vehicle, the release said. The release did not say how many passengers were in the other vehicles or provide other identifying information.
Deputies were assisted by the St. Johns Police Department, Ovid Fire Department, Elsie Fire Department, Clinton Area Ambulance, Eaton Area Ambulance and Clinton County Central Dispatch.
