OKLAHOMA CITY — The rematch is set between the Texas Tech softball team and Texas to determine the national champion.
The Red Raiders and Longhorns each won two do-or-die elimination games on Monday in the semifinals of the 2026 Women’s College World Series. Texas took down Tennessee twice while Texas Tech got a walk-off home run from Mia Williams to force another game against Alabama, which the Red Raiders won 2-0.
The two teams who decided the national champion in 2025 will do so again at Devon Park. In last year’s series, Texas won the first game before Texas Tech took Game 2 to force the decisive third game, ultimately won by the Longhorns 10-4.
This is the first time in the current WCWS bracket format (beginning in 2005) where two teams have met in the finals two years in a row.
