Center Grove's Gannon Grant named Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year

Center Grove senior pitcher/infielder Gannon Grant’s sights are set Victory Field and a possible state championship, but the Tennessee commit picked up some hardware along the way.

Monday, the two-way standout was named Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year. Grant joins Mooresville catcher Hogan Denny (2024) and Franklin outfielder Max Clark (2023, 2022, 2021) as recent players of the year from Central Indiana.

Grant helped lead Center Grove to a 24-1 record. Heading into Monday’s sectional championship game against Perry Meridian, Grant is 7-0 with a miniscule 0.93 ERA and 70 strikeouts over 45⅓ innings. Grant has allowed just 23 hits and 11 walks all season. At the plate, Grant is batting .356 with 26 RBIs, six doubles, four home runs, one triple and three stolen bases.

The 6-foot-2 right hander is committed to Tennessee, but he could have a decision to make ahead of the 2026 MLB Draft. Grant, thanks to his 95-mph fastball and wipeout slider is the 120th-ranked draft prospect per Baseball America. Last season, the 120th-pick carried an assigned slot value of $629,500. Cade Crossland, a left-handed pitcher out of Oklahoma signed with the St. Louis Cardinals for $100,000 over slot value at pick 120 in 2025.
