Apparently, Jack Antonoff is in Milwaukee rehearsing for his band Bleachers’ upcoming international tour, which includes a September stop in the city.
On Saturday, May 30, Antonoff shared the moving love story and incredible teamwork of his San Diego great aunt and uncle on Instagram (go read it!), with the caption: “hi from milwaukee. tour rehearsals out here until we start on the 5th. sending love!”
Bleachers released its fifth studio album, “everyone for ten minutes,” on May 22. The “Bleachers Forever” tour kicks off in our neighbor to the south, Chicago, at The Salt Shed Outdoors (Fairgrounds) with shows on June 5 and 7. With those two, the tour has around 30 U.S. shows scheduled, including five that are already sold out in Los Angeles.
Bleachers will be bringing the tour to Milwaukee’s newest music venue, Landmark Credit Union Live, on Sunday, Sept. 27 (more info and tickets here). This is Lorelei is listed as the opener for the show.
“Bleachers Forever” will be headed for Europe and the United Kingdom this fall/winter.
If Bleachers isn’t where you know Antonoff from – though, I bet you’d remember Bleachers’ 2014 debut single, “I Wanna Get Better” – he’s also: A music producer and songwriter extraordinaire who’s worked with some of music’s biggest names, including Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey and Sabrina Carpenter; a former member of the band fun.; an advocate for Planned Parenthood and LGBTQ rights; and the husband of actress Margaret Qualley. He has 14 Grammy Award wins and 37 nominations, mainly from collabs.
TikTok user syd…g posted a photo over the weekend of herself at the Tiki Bar outside the Milwaukee Public Market and wrote over it: “Good morning Milwaukee, I just ran into Jack Antonoff in the third ward & cried.”
“My friends didn’t believe me that I walked by him this morning, thanks for sharing,” someone commented on that post.
Another person said in the comments that they spotted Antonoff walking by the riverfront Sunday morning.
