The annual Ice Cream Social, sponsored by the Hudson League for Service, is Friday, June 12 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on the Clocktower and Gazebo Greens.
All ages are welcome. Hot dogs, chips, pies, cakes and ice cream will be available for purchase.
Presale tickets for black raspberry, vanilla and chocolate ice cream and strawberry sorbet are now at the Hudson Visitors’ Center and the Learned Owl. Tickets also can be purchased on the Gazebo Green that night.
The HLFS also has set up a fund at the Hudson Community Foundation to accept donations this year. Any donation amount is appreciated.
In case of rain, the Ice Cream Social will move to the Hudson High School, 2500 Hudson Aurora Road.
Sponsors for this year’s event include Katie Madio Homes, KWLiving, Team Fast Lane CrossCountry Mortgage, Katie Reed Hoy, Patricia Goetz, Nicole Kowalski, Derrick Hall, Printer’s Devil, Hershey’s Ice Cream, Printing Concepts, the city of Hudson and the Hudson City School District.
Music entertainment will be provided by the Western Reserve Community Band, the Hudson Community Children Chorus, The Responsible Adults and Rubber City Ukuleles.

Proceeds from the fundraiser provides a high school scholarship for outstanding volunteer service and for community grants. This year awards were given to Elena Cheng, Hudson Ministerial Association, Hudson Bandstand, Hudson Community Television, Hudson Library & Historical Society – Youth Services, and Case Barlow Farm.
The first Hudson League for Service Ice Cream Social was organized in 1947. Proceeds were used to finance community projects that included teaching an art class at the high school, providing transportation for those who needed a ride, helping at the library by mending books and children’s story times, sponsoring a children’s theater and much more.
