Social media reacts to bombshell Browns trade of Myles Garrett to Rams

The Cleveland Browns stunned the NFL on Monday, June 1, when news broke they were trading two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.

The initial return in the trade, as reported by NFL Network National Insider Ian Rapoport on X (formerly Twitter), is fellow edge rusher Jared Verse, a first-round draft pick and more.

The trade occurred mere months after Browns owner Jimmy Haslam called Garrett a “unicorn” as well as “the best player in the NFL” and said that he was an “integral” part of the Browns franchise.

Welp, so much for that.

Now, Garrett will take his talents to LA and continue to chase his Super Bowl aspirations with a Rams squad that features star quarterback Matthew Stafford and All-Pro wide receiver Puka Nacua.

Here’s how social media reacted to the blockbuster trade.

Although many fans felt trading Garrett, the face of the franchise in Cleveland, was a shocking maneuver, others touted the return of Verse (a 25-year-old, two-time Pro Bowler) along with other assets.
