“Brandon Dean, who has owned and promoted Peoria Speedway for 13 years, is stepping down,” the Peoria Speedway management team wrote on Sunday in a Facebook post. “Bob Sargent and Adam Mackey will take over the promotion of the Summer Nationals.”

The Central Illinois Flea Market, which hosts monthly events at the speedway, announced Sunday that the closure of racing operations there will not affect flea market operations. Business will continue as usual.

“Thank you for your continued support,” Central Illinois Flea Market posted. “We can’t wait to see all of you on Sunday, June 14th for another great day of treasure hunting, bargain shopping, and family fun.”

The June 14 event will be the flea market’s third of the year. It will feature over 150 vendors, food trucks, and a bounce house. The market will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Early bird admission between 8 and 9 a.m. will be $5, and general admission from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission for children 12 and under will be free. The market will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the Tazewell Animal Protective Society no-kill animal shelter.
