It’s time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.
Your vote will determine who will be the Faber Builders Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for May 25-31. The players’ credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Thursday morning.
The nominees are chosen by our sports reporters. If you would like to call attention to an athlete’s performance to be considered for the nomination, please email sports@democratandchronicle.com by 7 p.m. each Sunday. All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

McKenna Anderson
Victor lacrosse player had the overtime winner to propel the Blue Devils past Irondequoit in the Class B section semifinals. Anderson finished with two tallies, and now has 49 goals on the season.
Gianna Ciavarri
A linebacker on the Penfield flag football team, Ciavarri intercepted two passes, ran one back for a touchdown, and pulled 10 flags to help Penfield advance to the Class A state tournament final four with a 25-6 win over Union-Endicott.
Cailyn Cole
A junior at Webster Schroeder who ran the fastest 400-meter intermediate hurdles race of the spring in Section V (1 minute, 3.31 seconds) at the Class A sectional championships.
Jessie Crye
Softball pitcher had a one-hit, 16-strikeout performance to lead Avon over Wellsville, 2-1, in the Section V Class B2 final. Crye, who struck out 11 batters in a win over top-seeded Mynderse three days prior, was awarded Most Valuable Player of the Class B2 tournament.
Annaleigh Green
A triple jumper on the Hilton outdoor track and field team, Green matched the season’s best in Section V with a leap of 39 feet at the Class A sectional championships.
Harper Jacob
Honeoye Falls-Lima lacrosse player had four goals, one assist and six draw controls as the Cougars defeated Wayne in the Class C section semifinals on Wednesday.
Ellie Miller
Fairport lacrosse player buried five goals with one assist as the Red Raiders defeated Rush-Henrietta in the Class A semifinals on Tuesday. Miller, a senior, has 43 goals this spring.
Lily Rowe
Livonia-Avon-Geneseo lacrosse player posted five goals and four assists to push the Lakers past Geneva on Wednesday, to the team’s first Section V championship game.
Leah Sperry
Mercy softball junior singled and scored the winning run in the Section V Class A final. The Monarchs scored four runs in their last turn at-bat to shock Batavia, 4-3. Sperry won Most Valuable Player after also scattering five hits in the pitcher’s circle.
Karizma Wescott
A junior at Batavia who ran the fastest girls 400-meter outdoor track and field race of the season in Section V, 55.63 seconds, during the sectional Class C5/B2 Championships.
