Field International USA hiring for new aerospace jobs in Pensacola

The United Kingdom-based aerospace company, Field International, that selected Pensacola for its U.S. operations is now hiring for a wide range of positions, from manufacturing to support staff, and it’s looking to tap into local talent.

Field International USA is setting up shop at 3890 Pasco St., off North Palafox Street, near Fairfield Drive.

The building has been empty for some time, and its office spaces and warehouse are undergoing renovations to prepare for business and production, while some office staff settle into their new roles.

The aerospace company is actively hiring for 50 jobs for the first phase of its U.S. facility, positions they hope to have filled by the end of June.

Field International creates tools for commercial airlines, specifically as a Boeing licensee.

This includes tools designed to remove landing gear from large aircraft and hoists for large engines, as well as tools for the maintenance and repair of aircraft, like exhaust systems.

They are also known for the quality of their custom-made outer packaging for their tools, which is manufactured in-house.

Positions include welders, assemblers and machinists, as well as people in shipping and receiving or providing services like painting or working in the wood shop. There are also support staff positions open including finance and human resources.

“Our doors aren’t open yet, so we’re trying to get the roles that we need in here first to get these doors open and start manufacturing,” Field International USA Financial Controller Kristina Shoun said. “There’s a lot of hiring that’s going to happen between now and the end of this year, going into next year.”

Shoun said the average salary is $80,000, but it varies depending on the position. She said some production positions pay $20 an hour and up, while other support positions can pay $150,000 a year, depending on the scope and role.

“For some of these roles, we want to get it out to the local community as much as possible because Field (International) really wants to embrace the community and hire within the local community as much as possible,” Shoun said. “If we can find qualified candidates within the local area, that’s obviously our preference.”

Shoun added there are a lot of opportunities for upward movement within the company, too. Managers say they focus on creating a quality work culture because that brings out the best employees, and they will provide training to help employees succeed.

They expect to hire 50 more people once expansion plans begin in about three years, which will include a new building.

Those interested in applying should visit Field International’s Linked In page, contact them on their website, or send their resume directly to Shoun at kristinashoun@fieldinternational.com.
