As the top two seeds in the Auburn Regional, Auburn and UCF probably envisioned playing each other on May 31.
But their dreams likely had the matchup taking place in the bracket finals.
Instead, the Tigers and Knights both sit on the brink of elimination after suffering upsets against No. 4 seed Milwaukee during the first two days of the NCAA baseball tournament. The plucky Panthers stunned Auburn 13-8 on Friday and then remained hot with a 13-6 victory over UCF on Saturday.

Now, No. 1 and No. 2 will battle each other for their postseason lives.
The winner of UCF-Auburn — with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. at Plainsman Park — will advance to a championship showdown with Milwaukee. The loser will head home.
