Trump administration is the antithesis of patriotism and Christianity
It would be difficult for many Hollywood screenwriters to come up with a villain more vile, sinister, or dastardly than DJT. His entire life story is that of being a perpetrator.
Lying, cheating, and stealing are his natural, performative, and transactional means of seeing and interacting with the world. Use any terms of description, word associations, or historical examples and the results are the same. None of them will include traits or characteristics associated with normal human virtues. Start with borrowing toys from his brother and gluing them together so he wouldn’t have to return them. Look at any of his recent posts, stupid rants, or demented quotes. A narcissistic, psychopathic, conman, fraudster, gangster, racist, warmonger has convinced himself that he is an omnipotent image of American Jesus.
And sadder still is realizing that much of his support has come from those who have been deceived and deluded by framing and propaganda into thinking that they are good patriots and Christians. The numbers are dwindling, but it’s a wonder that anyone can still retain that faith and belief in the face of so much contrary evidence. A Patriot loves his country and its legal principles. A Christian follows the teachings of Jesus Christ, the red letters. This administration is the antithesis of both.
This march to tyranny is the dictator’s playbook. It’s not much different from techniques seen in the battered-wife syndrome. Someone is trying to control the physical and mental environment, limit personal or social contact with the outside, restrict access to objective information, attack any source of intervention.
In just one category, look at the accumulated lies he’s told. Obama was not born in the USA. Mexico will pay for a wall. “Every day I wake up determined to deliver a better life for the people all across this nation that have been ignored, neglected, and abandoned.” The 2020 election was rigged. Other countries will pay tariffs (direct taxes on US importers and citizens.) “We’ve already won.” “Total and complete victory, 100%.” “I do make people better. I make people a lot better.” “Praise be to Allah!”
