Annie McCracken cleared a height of 13 feet to win the pole vault May 29 for the Granville girls track team during the Division II regional championships at Lexington. McCracken qualified for next week’s state meet.
Tory Reynolds in the long jump (17-0) and Audrey Ames in the 100-meter hurdles (15.65 seconds) each placed sixth for the Blue Aces, and they also joined Charlotte Turner and Anna Ehrlich on the sixth-place 800 relay (1:45.18), which is expected to earn an at-large berth to state. Elsa Tonnessen added an eighth-place finish in the 1,600 (5:11.21).
In the boys meet, the Granville foursome of Liam Duffey, Grady Johnson, Dimas Spencer and Nolan Cheney raced to a runner-up finish in the 1,600 relay (3:21.91). Joining them at the state meet will be teammates Bode Shoaps, who placed third in the 100 (10.64) and fourth in the 200 (21.69), and Cade Roberts, who placed fifth in the high jump (6-3).
Travis qualifies in three
Ava Travis raced to a trio of runner-up finishes for the Northridge girls during the Division IV regional championships at Marion Harding.
Travis crossed in a time of 12.46 seconds to take runner-up in the 100 and later matched that in the 400 (56.85) and 200 (25.31), qualifying to next week’s state meet. Teammate Dixie Ashbrook-Hall placed eighth in the 100 hurdles (17.02), and Travis and Ashbrook-Hall also joined Macey Van Fossen and Summer Strout on the eighth-place 1,600 relay (4:15.73) for the Vikings.
Katie Reed covered a distance of 112 feet, 11 inches in the discus to place fourth for Utica and earn her second state berth of the week, previously qualifying in the shot put.
In the boys meet, Northridge’s Colton Isler placed fourth in both the 110 hurdles (15.11) and 300 hurdles (39.92) to qualify for state. Utica’s Hunter McKinney will join him after placing fifth in the 400 (49.71).
Northridge’s Jamie Odrumsky added seventh-place finishes in the 100 (11.16) and 200 (22.39) as did teammate Xave Fiamingo in the shot put (51-4¼).
Utica’s Andrew Bebout placed seventh in the 800 (1:58.16), and he also joined McKinney, Sam Krueger and Hayden Quinif on the seventh-place 1,600 relay (3:25.23).

Heights drops final
Zach Bricker singled for No. 14 Licking Heights (9-17) in an 11-0 loss to No. 1 New Albany (22-7) in a Division II district final at Ohio Dominican.
