West De Pere Sectional

DE PERE – Eva Busch was a double winner for Appleton North to lead the Lightning to the team title with 113 points.

Busch finished first in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs with times of 4:57.91 and 10:47.8, respectively. Ashley Parrish also picked up two individual first-place finishes for the Lightning, winning the 100 with a time of :12.40 and the long jump with a jump of 19-0.

West De Pere had a double winner in Kaylin Thomson. She swept the hurdles with winning times of :14.64 in the 100-meter hurdles and :44.80 in the 300 hurdles.

The Bay Port quartet of Mya Wysocki, London LaBlonde, Trista Harju and Hailey Schroeder won the both the 400 and 800 relays with times of :48.64 and 1:42.61, respectively.

Ashwaubenon’s Lera Black won the pole vault at a height of 12-6. She also won the triple jump with a winning jump of 36-7.5.

In the boys meet, De Pere’s Grady Lenn picked up a pair of wins for the Redbirds, winning the 1,600 with a time of 4:13.02 and the 3,200 with a time of 9:26.74.

Beaver Dam Sectional

BEAVER DAM – The Neenah girls won the team title with 120 points to outdistance Slinger and Germantown, which tied for second with 96.

Emma Severson took first in the shot put with a toss of 48-9 and first in the discus with a throw of 153-9 for Neenah. Celia Gentile took first in the long jump with a leap of 19-2 and first in the triple jump with a leap of 39-1.

Neenah also took first in the 400 relay in 48.36 seconds with the team of Brynn Fox, Molly Snider, Kobi Meyer and Gentile.

The Neenah boys took seventh place with 54 points. Hartford Union won the meet with 90 points.

Owen Fox finished second in the 300 hurdles for the Rockets in 40.08 seconds. Fox was also third in the long jump with a leap of 20-11.75. Nate Kramp was third in the shot put for the Rockets with a toss of 51-11, and their 3,200 relay team of Evan Mckenna, Gideon Benner, Isaac Rangel and Drew Sabbatke was third in 8:05.30.

Hilbert Sectional

HILBERT – Coleman had a pair of teammates both win two events in the boys meet on its way to a second-place team finish behind Manitowoc Lutheran.

Hunter Dehart finished first in both the shot put and discus with a shot put toss of 61-10 and a discus throw of 183-11. Kolton Peters won the 110-meter hurdles and the 300 hurdles with a times of :14.50 and :38.85, respectively.

Shiocton’s Paxton Kuehn picked up first-place finishes in the 100 with a time of :10.95 and the long jump with a jump of 21-7.

St. Mary Catholic’s Ellie Davel was part of two first-places in the girls meet. She won the 100 hurdles with a time of :14.84 and ran the second leg of the Zephyrs’ first-place 400 relay team. Davel, Autumn Crowe, Cora Epping and Luci Nackers won the event with a time of :50.20.

Kewaunee’s Hannah Miller was also in on two first-place finishes. She won the 800 with a time of 2:14.95 and teamed with Natalie Miller, Noelie El Kout and Kaylyn Martin to win the 1,600 relay with a time of 4:05.28.

BASEBALL

SEYMOUR – The Thunder scored five runs in the third inning to extend a one-run lead to 8-2 on the way to the nonconference win over the Redbirds.

Carson Staffeldt, Cayden Staffeldt, Brayden Banker, Owen Linsmeyer and Nolan Beilfuss each had two hits for Seymour. Carson Staffeldt and Cayden Staffeldt both had doubles. Beilfuss and Xavier Salzman each drove in two runs.

Kobe Barth pitched 4⅓ innings and got the win for Seymour. He allowed two runs on three hits while striking out five.

Will Nikolay had two hits and two RBIs for De Pere. Colton Setzer also had two hits, scored three runs and stole two bases.

Jake Mleziva started, allowed eight runs (five earned) in 2⅔ innings and took the loss for De Pere. Kasen Gregoire pitched 3⅓ innings of relief, allowing one run on four hits.

Manitowoc Lincoln 11, Kaukauna 9

MANITOWOC – The Ships took a 9-2 lead after two innings but had to score two runs in the sixth to win the game after the Ghosts rallied back to tie the game 9-9.

Turner Sorenson had three hits and drove in four runs for Manitowoc. Nick Minikel had two hits and drove in three runs.

Sorenson was the winning pitcher for Manitowoc.

BOYS LACROSSE

Appleton United 5, Kimberly 3

APPLETON – Eighth-seeded Appleton advanced to the regional finals with the victory over the ninth-seeded Papermakers.

Appleton will play at No. 1 seed Waunakee on June 2 in the regional final.

Neenah 13, De Pere/West De Pere 6

NEENAH – The Rockets advanced to the regional final with the victory.

Seventh-seeded Neenah will play at No. 2 seed Middleton on June 2 in the regional final.
