Heading into the 2026 season, their first under new head coach Jeff Hafley, the Miami Dolphins will rely heavily on some young players who are adjusting to new roles as well as life in the NFL.
Among those players is Dolphins rookie linebacker Jacob Rodriguez, who the team took in the second round of the 2026 NFL draft out of Texas Tech. With the Red Raiders, he recorded 316 tackles, 13 forced fumbles, 12 passes defensed, six sacks and five fumbles recovered.
Rodriguez also earned All-Big 12 honors twice and All-American honors once while loading up his trophy case with a Chuck Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award, Butkus Award and Bronko Nagurski Trophy.
Since the draft, Dolphins fans have fallen in love with Rodriguez for his game tape and personality on the field during his college days, so the NFL wanted to get in on that and show a bit more about the man behind the helmet and the people behind the man.
It’s incredible to see Rodriguez’s support system share just how much they believe in him. It’s also very funny to see his brothers at the end needling him in that classic brotherly way.
