Jets add the interesting Younghoe Koo to kicker competition

The New York Jets have added a known name to their kicking competition that will unfold during the 2026 offseason.

The Jets have reportedly signed NFL veteran Younghoe Koo to compete for the starting job in 2026 according to multiple reports including Sportsnet New York:

Koo, 31, played five games the New York Giants last season after one with the Atlanta Falcons. During that spell with the Giants, Koo made headlines in Week 13.

Koo lined up for a kick on “Monday Night Football” and missed the ball and booted the ground. Koo and the Giants went on to lose that game 33-15 to the New England Patriots.

But Koo has had his share of highs in the NFL. In 2020, he was a Pro Bowler with the Falcons.

Koo will join Cade York and Lenny Krieg as kickers on the Jets’ roster. Nick Folk, New York’s kicker last season, signed with Atlanta as a free agent in March.

Jets Wire will continue to provide updates throughout the 2026 offseason.
