WEST LAFAYETTE − The cause of a mobile home fire in West Lafayette may not ever be known due to the extensive damage, according to fire officials.
West Lafayette Volunteer Fire Department Chief Damon Gould said the blaze started shortly after noon on May 23 in the 200 block of North Oak Street. Personnel were on scene until about 2:20 p.m.
He said all occupants fled the structure and there were no injuries. The fire is considered to have been accidental and started in the laundry room area.
The structure is considered a total loss with estimated value at $3,850, according to information from the Coshocton County Auditor’s website. Gould said there was also heat damage to vinyl siding of a neighboring structure.
Assisting on scene were Coshocton, Three Rivers, Jackson Township, Bakersville and Newcomerstown fire departments; Salvation Army, American Red Cross, American Electric Power and the Coshocton Water Department.
