Similar to center Charles Bassey, Omer Yurtseven had limited opportunities to make an impact with the Golden State Warriors during the 2025-26 season. After playing in the EuroLeague, Yurtseven impressed in the G-League, earning a 10-day contract after injuries to centers Quinten Post and veteran Al Horford. Although Yurtseven did enough to earn a second 10-day contract, he was unable to secure a spot for the rest of the season, leading to Golden State bringing in the aforementioned Bassey.
Overall, Yutseven made nine appearances for the Warriors, averaging 3.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 0.9 assists. Of all his nine appearances, Yurtseven looked the strongest in his final game, posting 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists and one block. Given his size (6’11”), Yurtseven’s field goal percentage (42.3) was lacking. In fact, it was the lowest mark of his career. Furthermore, Yurtseven’s scoring and rebounding numbers were down compared to his previous NBA stints. For these reasons and for his defensive shortcomings, Golden State opted to move on from the former Georgetown product.
