FAMU baseball's potential SWAC Tournament title game clincher postponed

Florida A&M baseball’s Southwestern Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals game will have to wait.

Originally scheduled for Friday, May 22, at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, the Rattlers (29-22) will now meet the winner of Southern and Texas Southern on Saturday, May 23, at 1 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Southern-Texas Southern game was also moved from Friday afternoon to an evening start at 8 p.m.

The SWAC Tournament, played at Birmingham, Alabama’s Rickwood Field, has been affected by rain during the five-day playoff.

FAMU has gone perfect in the double-elimination bracket, beating Texas Southern 8-6 in the opening round and then defeating Southern 15-6 behind a hitting masterclass by All-SWAC First Teamer Jackson McKenzie.

Whomever the Rattlers face on Saturday must beat them twice to advance to the SWAC Championship game on Sunday, May 24. Sunday’s title game starts at 2 p.m.

The entire SWAC Tournament will be streamed for free on SWAC TV.
