ODOT to close I-77 south ramp to U.S. 30 east in Canton for repairs

CANTON ‒ The Interstate 77 south ramp to U.S. 30 east will be closed starting June 1 for repair work.

Detours posted will direct drivers U.S. 30 west to Raff Road, then back to U.S. 30 east, according to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The ramp is expected to remain closed through late June for an expansion joint replacement, which allows the bridge to flex as vehicles pass over it.

The joint has reached the end of its expected lifespan and needs repair, according to an ODOT spokesperson. During the closure, crews also plan to seal and patch the bridge.

The closure is part of ongoing resurfacing and bridge repairs, slated for late October completion. The following routes will have lane restrictions during construction:
