Michigan High School softball districts begin next week, with first round games beginning on Tuesday, May 26 and the district finals taking place from May 28-30. The state-title favorites have begun to separate themselves, evidenced by the latest rankings release by the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association (MHSSCA) on Tuesday, May 19.
All four No. 1 teams stayed the same this week (Hudsonville, Stevensville Lakeshore, Evart, Mendon), with only minor changes down lower in the top ten.
In Division 1, No. 3 Northville and No. 4 Saline swapped positions, while No. 8 Grand Blanc swapped with No. 9 Salem. In D2, No. 3 Paw Paw swapped with No. 4 Clio while No. 10 Escanaba jumped into the top ten from the honorable mentions.
D3 had the most notable changes, with a former No. 1 in Ravenna back up to No. 3, No. 5 Morely Stanwood up from No. 8 and No. 10 St. Mary Catholic Central into the top ten from honorable mentions.
