The USC Trojans have lost the commitment of four-star wide receiver Eli Woodard, who decommitted from the program on Tuesday. The Temecula, California, product announced the news on social media.
“After a lot of talks with my family and praying, I have decided to decommit from USC and fully reopen my recruitment. Excited to see where God takes me,” he wrote.
Woodard committed to the Trojans on Feb. 10, shortly after he attended a Junior Day event on campus. He is a longtime target for USC, who extended him a scholarship offer back in June of 2025.
He is ranked as the No. 178 overall player and No. 23 wide receiver in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 15 player from California.
Woodard had an excellent junior season at Chaparral High School, emerging as one of the most explosive wide receivers in California. He caught 51 passes for 1,070 yards and 17 touchdowns in 12 games, averaging 21.0 yards per catch. He also played on defense, making 32 tackles, one interception, and breaking up seven passes.
His decommitment leaves USC with 13 players in their 2027 recruiting class, including four-star wide receivers Quentin Hale and Roye Oliver III, who are both top 100 prospects. The goup is ranked as the 5th best in the country and the 2nd best in the Big Ten by 247Sports.
