Mamaroneck is hanging onto No. 1 in the lohud boys lacrosse rankings

We’re all in on the playoffs now, which means these are the final Boys Lacrosse Power Rankings of the regular season. A few programs have one game left to play before the seedings drop on Wednesday. There will be very little uncertainty when the final rankings of the season post after the NYSPHSAA tournament.

Boys Lacrosse Power Rankings

(Includes games played through May 17)

1. Mamaroneck (12-3): The Tigers have won 12 in a row against Section 1 opponents. Last week: 1

2. Iona Prep (16-4): A pretty darn impressive legacy requires two more wins and one more state title. Last week: 2

3. Rye (11-5): Henry Shoemaker is playing quarterback for the Garnets. Last week: 3

4. Yorktown (12-4): A meaningful layoff ahead of the playoffs could help clear up some health issues. Last week: 4

5. Greeley (10-6): Thomas Pollard has emerged as the second option the Quakers needed. Last week: 5

6. Somers (9-6): Rye is the only Class C contender this team hasn’t dismissed. Last week: 6

7. John Jay-Cross River (8-7): A lengthy run in sectionals will require big road wins. Last week: 7

8. Pleasantville (11-5): Remember when the Panthers were 0-4? Last week: 8

9. Bronxville (9-6): Can these guys come up with timely stops and easy goals under pressure? Last week:  9

10. Pelham (11-4): A couple of playoffs wins give a young Pelicans team even more valubable experience. Last week: 10

On the bubble: Hackley (13-2); Clarkstown South (11-4); North Rockland (11-4); Scarsdale (8-8); Stepinac (7-13); White Plains (14-2).

Class A: 1. Mamaroneck; 2. Scarsdale; 3. White Plains; 4. Lakeland/Panas; 5. Clarkstown South

Class B: 1. Yorktown; 2. Greeley; 3. Carmel; 4. Mahopac; 5. Brewster.

Class C: 1. Rye; 2. Somers; 3. John Jay-Cross River; 4. Pelham; 5. Tappan Zee.

Class D: 1. Bronxville; 2. Pleasantville; 3. Putnam Valley; 4. Blind Brook; 5. Irvington.
