As part their of 2026 NFL Draft class signings, the Detroit Lions inked 2026 fifth-round pick and cornerback Keith Abney II to his rookie contract.
Keith Abney II signed a four-year, $4.87 million contract that includes a fully-guaranteed $498,888 signing bonus, with an average annual salary of $1.2 million. Per Spotrac, Abney II carries a 2026 cap hit of $1,009,722.
Keith Abney II led Arizona State in both passes defended (nine in 2024 and 12 in 2025) and tied for the team lead in interceptions (three in 2024 and two in 2025) during the past two seasons.
Last season, Abney II was an elite defender for the Sun Devils, surrendering zero touchdowns en route to a 46.1 passer rating against and holding opposing quarterbacks to a 44.4% completion rate.
With the cornerback position an area of vulnerability for Detroit, Abney II should be able to immediately make an impact on the Lions’ pass coverage.
