Ohio State women's tennis loses to Auburn in NCAA semifinal

It was a great run, but the Ohio State women’s tennis team saw its season come to an end in a 4-1 loss to No. 2 seed Auburn in the NCAA semifinal. It was just the second time in program history that the Buckeyes made it this far in the postseason.

The Buckeyes got off to a tough start by dropping the doubles point to go down 1-0 when they dropped matches on courts one and two. The Buckeyes seemingly got back into things when Teah Chavez evened the match with a court one win, but that would be the end of the effort to come back.

The Tigers took courts six, three, and four to secure the 4-1 victory and vanquish any drama to advance to the NCAA championship match and send Ohio State home after a compelling season that saw it finish with a 27-5 record, the third most wins in a single season in program history.

Both the men and women will not hit the offseason, look to retool, and try to build on the momentum this year to make another run for next season.
