Country music superstar Morgan Wallen’s two-night stay in Gainesville is halfway over.
Wallen completed Night 1 of his pair of shows at the University of Florida’s Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on Friday, May 15.
After taking the stage at 9:25 p.m., Wallen played 28 of his hit songs, including the likes of “This Bar,” “Last Night” and “I’m the Problem,” the namesake of Wallen’s “Still the Problem Tour.”
Perhaps the biggest storyline of the night, however, was who Wallen did his iconic pre-show walkout with.
As has been tradition during Wallen’s concerts, the country music star brought out a local celebrity for his Friday night show and that local celebrity was none other than Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Tim Tebow, who was sure to give a hearty Gator chomp alongside Wallen, a noted Tennessee Volunteers fan.
During Night 2 of Wallen’s two-show stretch in The Swamp, it was legendary Florida football player and coach Steve Spurrier who got the nod as the walkout guest.
Spurrier, age 81, coached the Gators from 1990-2001 and led Florida to six SEC championships and its first national championship in 1996. Spurrier also suited up for Florida football from 1964-66, bringing home the program’s first Heisman Trophy in 1966.
