BOND HILL − The field has been trimmed to 77 golfers at the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G heading into the third round at Maketewah Country Club on Saturday, May 16.
Tough scoring conditions have set the tone for this tournament thus far, adding to Maketewah’s difficulty on top of the course’s thick rough, tricky greens and narrow fairways.
After two rounds, 28-year-old American Amanda Doherty and 30-year-old Jin Young Ko are tied for the 36-hole lead at 7-under. Doherty is searching for her first career win on the LPGA Tour while Ko has 15 career wins, but none since 2023.
Some of the LPGA’s top players are still lurking on the leaderboard, though. Former Kroger Queen City Champion Lydia Ko is just two shots back while Nelly Korda and Jeeno Thitikul sit at 4-under.
The third round began at 7:15 a.m. and rain is expected in Saturday’s forecast that could delay play later this morning.
