Former Florida football teammates will become opponents this upcoming season, while other veteran players will meet on the professional gridiron across the NFL. After the league released its schedule this week, we uncovered intriguing Gator-vs-Gator storylines to keep an eye on this fall.
Here are some of the most notable Gator reunions.
Alex Anzalone and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers host Kyle Pitts and the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8 for an NFC South clash. Pitts is coming off one of his most productive years in the league, while Anzalone is preparing for his first season with the Buccaneers in his return to the state of Florida as a professional.
In Week 9, 2026 first-round draft pick Caleb Banks and the Minnesota Vikings host former Gator and fellow first-rounder second-round pick O’Cyrus Torrence and the Buffalo Bills.
Ricky Pearsall and San Francisco travel to Dallas in Week 10 when the Cowboys host the 49ers. Pearsall, who is expected to have an expanded role in Klay Kubiak’s offense, will see 2026 four-round draft pick Devin Moore, who hopes to earn reps in the crowded Dallas secondary.
Former Gator and 2019 second-round pick Jawaan Taylor and the Kansas City Chiefs will face off against fourth-round selection C.J. Gardner-Johnson and the Bills in Week 12, pitting the two AFC rivals against each other. Gardner-Johnson and Taylor were in the same draft class and played together at Florida.
Former Gator and 2023 fourth-round pick Ventrell Miller and the Jacksonville Jaguars will travel to Chicago and face 2023 second-round selection Gervon Dexter Sr. and the Bears in Week 13. In Week 14, Dameon Pierce and the Philadelphia Eagles will take on 2026 fifth-round draft choice Georgia Gumbs Jr. and the Indianapolis Colts.
