The FSU baseball team beat the Miami Hurricanes 7-6 in 11 innings, completing an epic comeback with a walk-off walk to steal the game. They improved to 37-15 overall and 18-10 in the ACC with the win, clinching a top-four seed in the ACC Tournament and a double-bye
The Seminoles trailed 6-1 entering the eighth inning, but back-to-back homers by John Stuetzer and Brayden Dowd made it a 6-3 game. Carter McCulley drove in one run in the ninth before Eli Putnam crushed a two-run homer to left, tying the game. It took until the 11th, but FSU ended the game when Dowd drew a bases-loaded walk, sending Dick Howser Stadium into a frenzy.
FSU’s fans, who always enjoy beating Miami, took to social media to celebrate the epic game, which had a little bit of everything. The Seminoles overcame several baserunning mistakes in the 10th, thanks to some great pitching by Chris Knier, before the offense got back to work and did not waste their second chance.
The Seminoles have now won six of their last seven games against Miami, including the last four in Dick Howser. Here is a look at how FSU fans reacted to the comeback win.
