An El Paso Police Department investigation continues looking into the death of a woman at a Northeast apartment complex.
Katrina Ann Silvas, 27, who an online obituary described as the mother of seven children, was found dead about 10:15 p.m. on May 6 at the Sun Pointe apartments at 4700 Hondo Pass Drive, Officer Adrian Cisneros, a police spokesman, said.
The death investigation is being handled by detectives with the Crimes Against Persons Unit and a determination on the cause of death and whether the case is homicide is pending, Cisneros said on Tuesday, May 12.
“Katrina was very loved and will always be missed,” stated a Sunset Funeral Homes obituary, which lists Silvas as being survived by four sons and three daughters.
Red and yellow crime-scene tape could recently be seen blocking a door at one of the apartments at Sun Pointe complex.
The Sun Pointe apartments are part of Housing Operations and Management Enterprises, or HOME, El Paso’s public housing authority.
Sun Pointe is located at the site of what used to be the old Franklin D. Roosevelt Apartments public housing complex in the Angel’s Triangle neighborhood.
