Motorists, prepare for several interruptions on Interstate 75 and the Western Hills Viaduct in the days ahead.
The northbound lanes on I-75 will be closed completely through the Lockland Split – between Galbraith Road/Ronald Reagan Highway and Shepherd Lane – for the weekend, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
The closures are necessary so crews can make repairs before the highway is resurfaced, the department said.
Several more lane restrictions and closures will also happen along the interstate and the Western Hills Viaduct as different road projects take place.
Full closure of northbound I-75 this weekend
Starting at 11 p.m. Friday, May 15, all northbound lanes on I-75 in the Lockland Split will be closed through early Monday morning.
Traffic will be shifted to the S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Highway exit (Exit 10C) and detoured by way of S.R. 126 East, I-71 North and I-275 West.
All lanes will be reopened by 6 a.m. Monday, May 18.
Both directions of the Western Hills Viaduct to close
Throughout this week, expect daytime closure of the Western Hills Viaduct from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Crews with the City of Cincinnati and Duke Energy will be working to replace overhead transmission lines running parallel to the viaduct.
Motorists may detour by way of the Hopple Street interchange and Beekman Street.
The viaduct will also see daytime closures again before Memorial Day weekend, from Wednesday, May 20, through Friday, May 22.
