The sweep is complete for the Malone University men’s and women’s track and field teams.
Malone won the men’s and women’s team titles at the National Christian College Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships on May 8 in Wilmore, Kentucky. The men’s team cruised to a second straight title with a 44-point win over Bethel. The women edged Bethel by one point for their first title since 2009 and 13th all-time.
Hayden Schmidt won the men’s 5,000 meters in 15:18.60. Caden McClure joined him as an NCCAA champion in the pole vault with a winning height of 15 feet, 1 inch.
Allea Graves won the women’s 400 in 55.25 seconds. Amber Morris, Brooklyn McIntyre, Rebekah Stoneman and SaRae Johnson teamed up to win the 1,600 relay in 3:58.16.
