Texas A&M baseball opened its road series in Oxford with a frustrating 5–3 loss to Ole Miss, a game defined by offensive inconsistency and a lineup still reshuffling due to multiple injuries.
Ole Miss capitalized early on free passes to build a lead, while the Aggies didn’t break through until the top of the fifth, trimming the deficit to 3–2. A misplayed ball in the outfield in the seventh inning allowed two more Rebels runs to score, pushing the margin back to 5–2. A&M added one more run late but couldn’t complete the comeback.
The Aggies struck out 15 times and stranded nine runners, generating plenty of loud contact but rarely in the right moments. The bottom of the order, filled with new faces, managed just one hit all night.
Normally, A&M would have two days to reset, but with expected weather in Oxford, the Aggies now face a Saturday doubleheader with national hosting implications on the line.
