Butler basketball will be hosting a Black Friday tip off at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
The Bulldogs announced their second regular season game of the 2026-27 campaign, a home contest against Bellarmine on Nov. 27. The game against Bellarmine joins the Nov. 2 season opener against Lafayette as Butler’s two announced nonconference games under first-year coach Ronald Nored.
Tip times and television assignments will be announced at a later date.
Butler and Bellarmine have never played a men’s basketball game against each other. The Knights finished last season 13-19, ranking as the 278th team in Division I per KenPom. The team’s poor record can be partially explained by a respectable strength of schedule that saw the Knights travel to play teams like Georgia, Kansas State, Murray State and Kentucky. KenPom ranked Bellarmine’s defense dead last in Division I, and the Knights’ top player, Jack Karasinski transferred to Northwestern in April.
Nored took over as Butler’s newest coach after Thad Matta announced his retirement after the 2025-26 season. Nored played point guard under Brad Stevens on the Dawgs’ back-to-back Final Four teams. He was most recently an assistant coach for the Atlanta Hawks.
Butler returns starters Jalen Jackson and Drayton Jones, along with returners Kevin Ndzie, Ethan McComb and Bryson Cardinal. Butler has signed five transfers: Christian Moore (The Citadel) Jordan Ellerbee (Florida Golf Coast), Treyson Anderson (North Dakota State), Eduardo Klafke (Mississippi) and Samis Calderon (Kansas), three international players (Asim Djulovic, Marko Maric and Samu Adler) and two incoming freshmen, four-star forward Herly Brutus and former Noblesville star Baron Walker.
