HOLLAND TWP. — A prolonged closure of an often-traveled road in Holland Township will detour motorists for the next few months.
The sanitary sewer improvement project along Lakewood Boulevard between US-31 and 120th Avenue began May 4 and is expected to last until August. The eastbound lane is fully closed, but one westbound lane remains open, according to the project page from engineer Prein & Newhof.
The detour for those traveling east on Lakewood Boulevard is US-31 to James Street to 120th Avenue, then back to Lakewood Boulevard.
A second phase of the project on 120th Avenue between Lakewood Boulevard and James Street is expected to run July-November.
