Meijer comes to Brownsburg this week with a week of giveaways and celebrations at Indiana’s newest supercenter.
The 159,000-square-foot store will open at 9202 E. 56th Street, selling fresh produce, grocery items, apparel, home goods, electronics, toys and sporting goods.
“You can either come in and get everything you need for the week or the month,” Store Director Rebecca Miller told IndyStar. “Cataldo said.”You can get in and out quickly if just to grab and go or something to bring home for dinner.”
Shoppers will find a deli featuring meats that are cut in-house daily; a produce section with products from hundreds of farms throughout the Midwest; and a bakery selling cupcake bouquets and customizable cakes.
A pharmacy providing health screenings, immunizations, a drive-through option and a Higi health station that lets shoppers measure their blood pressure, heart rate, weight and BMI for free, while the large pet department is stocked with food, toys and treats.
A Great Clips salon and a garden center are also on site; and Sandy, the penny pony ride, is up front near the self-checkout stations and cashier lanes. The mechanical horse that has been at the stores for 60 years will continue to cost one cent.
Indiana brands in stock at Meijer
Offerings include several house brands.
“You’ll see more Meijer brands that bring the value to customers that they’re looking for as they’re going shopping these days,” Meijer spokesperson Erin Cataldo said.
Among those are basic Meijer brand items, premium Frederik’s by Meijer foods, True Goodness organic products and Purple Cow ice cream.

Michigan-based Meijer operates more than 500 stores in the Great Lakes region.
The Brownsburg store, the 44th location in Indiana, is one of three Meijer stores the privately owned, family-operated retailer will open on May 6.
A Bainbridge Township, Ohio, supercenter and a smaller grocery format Meijer in Rochester Hills, Michigan, are also opening that day.
Meijer gas station opening specials
A Meijer Express gas station on the property was opened in early April, offering specials through May 26.
The center includes a coffee bar, Godfather’s Pizza and live bait.
