WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Cheesecake Slice is officially open in Wisconsin Rapids.
The new bakery held a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m. May 4 with the Heart of Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce, then opened its doors for guests to check out the treats inside. The Cheesecake Slice officially opened at noon at 3940 Eighth St. S.
Dylan and Jayda Schulfer renovated the former BBQ Shack building on Eighth Street South to create a more permanent home for their business. What started as Dylan’s attempt at baking a cherry cheesecake to impress Jayda on a date about eight years ago grew into the couple baking cheesecakes together for friends and family.
As the demand grew, they got their cheesecake license, launched to the public in November 2024 and started using the commercial kitchen at Hotel Mead Resorts & Convention Centers during the hotel’s off hours, making cheesecakes for events and partnering to offer cheesecakes at local businesses. The company grew so quickly, when the BBQ Shack building became available, they knew it was home.
Customers can find whole or sliced cheesecakes for sale or opt to walk along the cheesecake bar and choose from a line of toppings to add to their cheesecake order.
If you’re not up for cheesecake, there are more baked treats available, including muffins, cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, turnovers, Danishes, breads, cream puffs, doughnut, cinnamon puff pastries and more.
The Cheesecake Slice will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 5-8, will be closed May 9 for an event and then open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10 for Mother’s Day.
Following the first full week of operation, The Cheesecake Slice will be open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The Cheesecake Slice will be closed Wednesdays.
