Cinco de Mayo is observed on May 5, and the festivities began early in the state capital.
While there are a number of ways to celebrate, Tallahassee’s local establishments are offering the perfect vibes and have transformed their regular dining services into a full-on fiesta fueled by mixed drinks, authentic Mexican cuisine, live music and more.
To help you plan, here’s a list of five local establishments offering deals and more on May 5:
Casa Grande Bar & Grill Mexican Restaurant
3212 Apalachee Parkway
Hours on Tuesday: 11 a.m.- 10 p.m.
Casa Grande Bar & Mexican Grill Restaurant on Apalachee Parkway says “this is where the real party is. The Mexican restaurant started celebrating early over the weekend but no worries they’re still ready to pour up drinks for the holiday. Starting at 4 p.m. it will have a DJ on site to set the tone. Enjoy free shots, Jell-O shots and giveaways all night. They are even introducing a new drink menu for its outside bar. You’ll want to accompany your drinks with a taste of their nachos, tacos, quesadillas, burritos and more.
El Jalisco
Five Tallahassee locations
Hours on Tuesday: 11 a.m.- 10 p.m.
El Jalisco says they’re offering “great food, great drinks, great company” for the holiday. Treat yourself to tacos specials all day long — with plenty of options on the menu, you’re bound to find whatever you’re craving. They also have deals on draft beers ($5), margaritas on the rocks ($6), frozen margaritas ($8) and Don Julio shots ($8).
Las Brazas Mexican Grill
Three Tallahassee locations
Hours on Tuesday: 11 a.m.- 10 p.m.
Las Brazas Mexican Grill l has the perfect ambiance to celebrate the holiday with a vibe they say “that’ll keep you here longer than planned.” The restaurant will have a DJ along with specials on margaritas, tequilas and food specials.
Pedros Tacos & Tequila Bar
750 Apalachee Parkway
Hours on Tuesday: 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
Pedros Tacos & Tequila Bar is hosting a big celebration not only for Cinco de Mayo but for its three-year anniversary in the capital.They’re pulling out all the stops for this fiesta which includes a live mariachi band and DJ, bounce houses, giveaways and a mechanical bull. Join them for a day of fun, but they say the main event starts at 10 p.m.
Pepper’s Mexican Grill and Cantina
1140 Capital Circle SE
Hours on Tuesday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
This family owned operation, Pepper’s Mexican Grill and Cantina has drinks ready for you and friends all night. From vodka gummies to two for one deals on house margaritas and draft beers. They’ll have a live DJ from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. as well.
