WEST LAFAYETTE − Purdue women’s basketball added the size it needed to complement returning center Avery Gordon.
Six-foot-5 center Anjela Minja announced on social media she’s committed to the Boilermakers.
Minja spent the past two seasons at Gulf Coast State College, a junior college in Panama City, Florida.
Last season, Minja averaged 7.8 points and 7.7 rebounds for the Commodores while shooting 49.2%. She was named second-team All-Panhandle Conference. Minja is Purdue’s fifth transfer addition this offseason.
She packages with the 6-7 Gordon, who came on strong late in her freshman season and averaged 4.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 27 games.
With the addition of Minja, from Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, Purdue’s roster now includes six international players and nine newcomers. The Boilermakers return four from last year’s roster, including Taylor Henderson, who redshirted last season with an injury suffered during the first official practice.
