DORAL — The Cadillac Championship is preparing for a wet final round and has changed the schedule in hopes of crowning a winner May 3.
Moving up play also will force Donald Trump to change his schedule if he wants to see any of the golf being played on his course. The president was expect to be at the event late in the afternoon.
The final round at Trump National Doral will start at 7:30 a.m. with golfers going off in groups of three from the first and 10th tees. The leaders are scheduled to tee off at 9:40 a.m.
Rain is expected to start moving into the area around 5 a.m. with a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms at 8 a.m. The rain is expected to last throughout the day and into the night.
Trump was scheduled to arrive on the course at 3 p.m. Temporary flight restrictions show Trump arriving in Miami at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 and departing at 8:30 p.m. May 3.
The president stayed at Mar-a-Lago, his estate in Palm Beach, Friday, May 1 after speaking that evening at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts hosted by the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches.
