Meijer sets baby gear recycling event at all stores

Meijer is collecting baby gear, including strollers and car seats, as part of a recycling program at all of its stores.

The company’s Baby Gear Recycling Event will run May 6-19, and customers can bring in used, expired or damaged gear to its supercenters, and it will be properly recycled. Those who donate items will receive a coupon.

Meijer has nearby stores in Brimfield Township and Stow, along with several in both Stark and Medina counties. Another nearby store will open to the public at 6 a.m. May 6 in Bainbridge Township on part of the former Geauga Lake property, just over the county line from Aurora.

The retailer said it collected 18 tons of gear in Spring 2025. Meijer said it has collected more than 30 tons of recycled material since it began in 2024.

“We saw a 33% increase in baby gear brought for recycling last year compared to 2024 and look forward to another successful year in 2026,” said Don Sanderson, Meijer’s chief merchandising and marketing officer.

Items including car seats, booster seats, strollers and travel systems can be donated. Donations can be brought to a marked drop-off area near the customer service desk in all Meijer stores.

Participants will receive a special offer code redeemable in their mPerks account for 25% off one item in the Meijer baby department, excluding apparel. It can be redeemed from May 6 to June 2. Get more information at shorturl.at/Qd0TE.
