The praise continues for the New York Jets following the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Athletic only named four teams (and two players) as “winners” following the 2026 draft. The Jets were among them.
Heading into the draft, Gang Green had two first-round picks. New York ended up making three selections in Round 1. Heading to the Jets in the first round were edge David Bailey, tight end Kenyon Sadiq and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr.
Because of those bold picks, The Athletic gave their praise.
The Athletic’s full breakdown on the Jets can be found below:
The Jets came away from Day 1 with three quality players in edge rusher David Bailey (Texas Tech), tight end Kenyon Sadiq (Oregon) and wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. (Indiana). After ranking among the worst in the league in sacks, Bailey fills a big need for the Jets, and Sadiq and Cooper will pair with Garrett Wilson to give Geno Smith an upgraded arsenal.
