Multiple state Route 8, state Route 21, Interstate 77 and Interstate 76 ramps will be closed over the next two weeks, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Interstate 76 and Interstate 77 – Akron
The state Route 59 ramps to I-76 west will be closed nightly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. from April 27 to April 29. The detour will be Rand Avenue to Vernon Odom Boulevard to I-77.
The ramp from I-77 north to I-76 east and west will be closed from 9 p.m. April 29 to April 30 at 5 a.m. The detour will be state Route 8 north to Perkins Street to state Route 8 south to I-76 east or I-76 west.
I-77 north at the Central Interchange will be closed from 9 p.m. April 30 to May 1 at 5 a.m. The detour will be I-76 east to Arlington Street to I-76 west to state Route 8 north.
State Route 8 – Akron
The following ramps will be closed nightly between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. between April 27 and May 2. The closures are part of the bridge replacement that should be completed in summer 2028.
State Route 21 – Richfield
The ramp from I-77 north to state Route 21 north will be closed for milling and resurfacing between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on April 27 and April 28. The detour will be I-77 north to I-80/Ohio Turnpike exit to state Route 21. Resurfacing of Route 21 between I-77 and the Cuyahoga County line will have an estimated completion in is late August.
