18-year-old Fond du Lac man injured in Taycheedah motorcycle crash

TAYCHEEDAH – An 18-year-old Fond du Lac man was flown to a Neenah hospital Tuesday evening, April 21, after a motorcycle crash on Golf Course Drive, according to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.

Dispatchers received a 911 call at about 6:54 p.m. reporting a crash near W4437 Golf Course Drive. Deputies and Mount Calvary Fire and Ambulance responded and found the rider about 30 yards down in a ravine, unconscious and breathing, the sheriff’s office said. Flight for Life transported him to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center–Neenah.

Investigators said evidence indicates the motorcycle was traveling east on Golf Course Drive when the operator lost control and entered the south ditch, striking a culvert and trees before overturning and coming to rest at the bottom of the ravine. The rider was wearing a helmet.

Golf Course Drive was closed between U.S. 151 and Red Fox Run for about 45 minutes.

The sheriff’s office said speed is believed to be a factor, and the crash remains under investigation.

The agency was assisted at the scene by Mount Calvary Fire and Ambulance, and City of Fond du Lac Ambulance was initially paged before Flight for Life was requested.
