BASEBALL

1. Royal 18-2, 8-0 Coastal Canyon (1)

Comment: The first-place Highlanders enter Simi Valley week 10-0 against Ventura County opposition.

2. Oaks Christian 15-5, 6-3 Marmonte (3)

Comment: Series wins over Newbury Park, Westlake and Thousand Oaks put the Lions in the thick of the Marmonte League race.

3. Westlake 14-6, 7-2 Marmonte (6)

Comment: The first-place Warriors have won six straight ahead of this week’s series against Thousand Oaks.

4. Simi Valley 13-9, 7-1 Coastal Canyon (7)

Comment: The Pioneers have won five of their last six and five straight league games to make this week’s two-game series against Royal even more meaningful.

5. Newbury Park 13-8, 5-4 Marmonte (8)

Comment: The Panthers entered the week with a one-game lead over Thousand Oaks for the Marmonte League’s third automatic playoff berth, plus they took the season series.

6. Thousand Oaks 15-6, 4-5 Marmonte (2)

Comment: Since starting the season 13-1, the Lancers have dropped five of seven games, including series to Newbury Park and Oaks Christian.

7. Moorpark 14-9, 1-7 Coastal Canyon  (4)

Comment: April 18’s eight-inning win over Highland snapped the Musketeers’ five-game losing streak.

8. Rio Mesa 12-9, 6-4 Channel (NR)

Comment: The Spartans have won seven straight in their race for a postseason berth.

9. St. Bonaventure 16-6, 6-0 Tri-Valley (9)

Comment: The Seraphs are tied with Foothill Tech atop the league standings with a two-game series with the Dragons to come next week.

10. Hueneme 11-11, 7-1 Citrus Coast (10)

Comment: The Vikings have a big series with rival Channel Islands this week with no room for error.

Next five: Agoura, Pacifica, Camarillo, Santa Paula, Foothill Tech.

SOFTBALL

1. Oaks Christian 19-2, 5-0 Marmonte (1)

Comment: The Lions are ranked No. 6 in the Southern Section.

2. Westlake 16-3-1, 4-1 Marmonte (2)

Comment: Catcher Sydney Katz leads the league in batting average (.571) and on-base percentage (.648).

3. Simi Valley 16-5-2, 4-0 Coastal Canyon (3)

Comment: The Pioneers have a two-game lead at the midpoint of the league race.  

4. Agoura 15-7, 3-2 Marmonte (4)

Comment: It’s a big week for the Chargers, who face Westlake on Tuesday and Oaks Christian on Thursday.

5. Camarillo 13-6, 2-2 Coastal Canyon (5)

Comment: The Scorpions have won five of six games and are ranked No. 24 in the Southern Section.

6. St. Bonaventure 15-6-1, 6-0 Tri-Valley (6)

Comment: The Seraphs lead the county with 223 runs scored. They are averaging more than 10 runs per game.

7. Moorpark 6-7, 2-2 Coastal Canyon (7)

Comment: The Musketeers have won just one of their last six games.

8. Thousand Oaks 13-10, 2-3 Marmonte (8)

Comment: The Lancers have played six one-run games, including three in league play.

9. Oak Park 12-8, 2-2 Coastal Canyon (9)

Comment: The Eagles already have more league wins this season than they managed in 2024 and 2025 combined.

10. Oxnard 11-7-1, 6-2 Channel (10)

Comment: The Yellowjackets trail first-place Dos Pueblos by two games, but a two-game series between the teams looms next week.

Next five: Newbury Park, Rio Mesa, Grace, Santa Clara, Ventura.
