After eight successful years in Downtown El Paso, the owners of Rockstar Burger Bar have expanded with a second location in the Eastlake area by Horizon City.
Alexander Mangual, general manager, said the owners Robert Holguin (not the Channel 14-KFOX news anchor) and Isaac Licon, have created the same vibe at the new location at 13649 Eastlake Blvd. C-1.

It’s a restaurant known for crafting burgers with premium ingredients while also offering diners a fun place to have a cocktail or hang out for listening and watch parties.
The spacious restaurant has 19 televisions including three in an outdoor patio, to show major sports events such as the World Cup coming up. However, they also use the TVs for fun theme nights.
“I think the key to our success has been showcasing our flavors, having variety on our burgers and also giving back to the community. It’s what really makes us connect to the public,” Mangual said.
Like its name implies, the Rockstar Burger Bar is serious about providing a delicious burger and that means the ground beef is a blend of brisket, short rib and chuck meat.
There are 10 burgers to choose from on the menu, from a classic hamburger to a veggie burger, Big Nacho burger with chorizo and jalapenos to a smoked brisket burger. The burgers come with a choice of regular seasoned fries, sweet potato fries or a side salad.
Mangual said the most popular burgers are the Rolling Stone ($17) and the Border Burger ($19). That was music to our ears as that is what we had ordered on our visit.
Gaby had the Border Burger, which consisted of an arrachera steak patty, with tasty guacamole, Monterrey Habanero cheese, grilled onions, lettuce and tomato.
I had the Rolling Stone which included sauteed mushrooms, grilled onions, a torreado cream cheese, lettuce and tomato.
As soon as we saw the server making her way with the burgers, we were impressed by their sheer size — two formidable burgers with a sharp knife in their middle, spearing all the delicious ingredients together.
Both burgers were generously served, one with the guacamole and the other with delicious mushrooms and grilled onions. On mine, I would say the torreado cream sauce added a really good dimension to the burger. Gaby described her burger as tasting like she biting into a good steak inside two fluffy buns.
The menu also includes other items such as Buffalo chicken sandwiches and brisket and al pastor tacos, so we are definitely interested in trying those next time.
Mangual said they have several fun events coming up such as a Metallica listening party on April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. They also plan to have listening parties on the nights that BTS (May 2-3) and Post Malone (May 13) have their concerts.
Another crowd draw is when the new season of “Love Island” starts. The manager said they show the dating show on all screens during the season and people have fun watching and reacting to the dating drama.
The bar offers 18 different signature drinks which only enhances the celebrating.
