Lansing diner operator's Grand Rapids location to close April 26

Good Truckin Diner Grand Rapids, owned by Nick Sinicropi, who operates an Old Town Lansing restaurant by the same name, will close on April 26 if it doesn’t obtain a liquor license.

Sinicropi on April 19 said the Grand Rapids location at 701 Wealthy St. SE. has been operating without a liquor license. If he’s unable to finalize a license this week, the restaurant’s last day will be April 26.

“I would love to stay open, but most of my front of house employees were expecting to have alcohol sales and are leaving for other jobs now,” he said by text.

He said the closure of the Grand Rapids location would have no effect on the Lansing business because “they’re completely separate.”

An Instagram post on the Grand Rapids restaurant’s account on Saturday, April 18, which Sinicropi said was not authorized, claimed Sunday, April 19, would be the business’ final day.

“Yes, after nearly 3 years serving up hot coffee and a tasty breakfast we will be closing our doors,” the Instagram post said. “Last day of service for our Grand Rapids location will be Sunday April 19th. We would love to see yall one last time for those that can make it! Thank you all for your support over the past 3 years.”

Sinicropi began operating Good Truckin Diner in Lansing’s REO Town in 2014, and moved the business to the Creole building at 1218 Turner St. in Old Town in 2025.
