What to do with McCoy's Chophouse gift cards after restaurant closure

McCoy’s Chophouse has closed, but customers with unused gift cards for the Endicott restaurant still have some options.

Owner Jim McCoy made the decision to close the restaurant on April 14, noting health reasons as the main factor in the decision.

In an April 17 Facebook post, McCoy’s Chophouse made a statement apologizing to those who still have gift cards for the restaurant.

“The decision to close was made on Tuesday, and only on Tuesday,” the post says. “We did not plan to close before that day.”

Because of this, McCoy’s is offering a few different options for gift card holders. Here’s what to do if you still have gift cards to use.

McCoy’s Chophouse will be holding one final event at the restaurant from 4-7 p.m. on April 18.

The bar will be open for cocktails and the restaurant will be serving select dishes, and patrons can use gift cards for their food and drinks. There will also be merchandise for sale, according to the Facebook post, including shirts, glasses, knives and a spice rack, and gift cards can be used for those as well.

If you’re unable to attend the final service, there are other restaurants partially honoring McCoy’s Chophouse gift cards, the post read.

Concordia Restaurant, located at 101 Oak Hill Ave., in Endicott; PS Restaurant, located at 99 Court St., in Binghamton; and Aiello’s Restaurant, 2677 Main St., in Whitney Point have agreed to honor the gift cards for $25.

Gift cards will be limited to dine-in only and one per table, and cannot be used on holidays or graduation weekend.

“We thank these wonderful businesses for helping us, we know you will love them if you don’t already,” the post read.
