Another Michigan brewery has called it quits, this time on the southwest side of the state.
Greenbush Brewing Co. in Sawyer has closed its doors after nearly 15 years of business.

“The simple reality is that the restaurant world is hurting and we were no exception,” reads a statement posted to social media Tuesday afternoon.
“We kicked the can down the road as long as we could, but as they say, the secret to a happy ending is knowing when to roll the credits, so we’re going to exit state left and let the sun rise another day,” reads the statement, which thanks those who supported the brewery over the years. “There have been some high highs and some low lows but at the end of the day, we intended to create a place where the community could gather over good food and good beer. We did that and then some.”
Greenbush Brewing Co. Briefly had a second location in South Bend, Indiana, but that has since closed.
The brewery was known for its indoor and outdoor seating, a full menu of pub grub and barbecue, and its many varieties of craft beer.
Other recent brewery closings in Michigan
This month, Jolly Pumpkin announced it would close its Midtown Detroit restaurant, but plans to open elsewhere in the city later this year.
Other brewery closings from the past 15 months include Brew Detroit in Corktown, Blue Skies Brewery in Auburn Hills, Loaded Dice Brewery in Troy, Rebuy Brewing in Shelby Township and Draught Horse Brewery & Spirits in New Hudson.
The Draught Horse space is set to become a second location of Kickstand Brewing Co,. to open later this spring or summer.
