Congratulations to South Bend Adams sophomore softball player Abigail Kadar for winning the April 6-11 South Bend Tribune high school Athlete of the Week Poll. Kadar accumulated 15,852 of the 44,458 total votes, or 35.7% of the poll.
Karmen Frazier, a senior Mishawaka softball player, finished in second with 9,050 votes, or 20.4% of the poll.

Ryder Richard, Brandywine baseball
The Bobcats went 4-0-1 in five games last week, beating Coloma twice, beating Cadillac and Coldwater, then tying with Three Rivers. Richard, a senior Lake Michigan College commit, went 8-for-12 with two home runs, 12 RBIs, seven runs scored, five doubles, four hit by pitches, three stolen bases and two walks.
Cora Weinberg, Buchanan softball
The junior hit 10-for-19, collected 10 RBIs, scored six runs, hit four doubles, drew a walk and stole a base in six games last week as the Bucks went 4-2 in three doubleheaders vs. Bridgman, Edwardsburg and Vicksburg.
Alex Rudolph, Edwardsburg baseball
The senior Pitt football commit hit a walk-off two-run home run in extra innings of a 6-5 win vs. Niles Wednesday, and he went 5-for-7 with two homers, five RBIs, five runs, and a hit by pitch as the Eddies swept the Vikings in that evening’s doubleheader.
He drew two walks and got hit by a pitch twice, scoring two runs in Edwardsburg’s loss to New Prairie Thursday. In a doubleheader sweep against Portage Central Saturday, Rudolph hit just 1-for-7 but also drew two walks.
Kendal Hulett, Edwardsburg softball
The junior had a home run and five RBIs in a 14-5 win over Buchanan. Hulett also had a home run and scored four runs in an 11-8 win over Buchanan in the twin bill sweep Thursday.
In a doubleheader against Niles Wednesday, Hulett went 2-for-6 with two RBIs, two stolen bases, a walk and a home run as the Eddies and Vikings split.
At a tournament Saturday, Hulett went 3-for-11 with two walks, an RBI and a double as Edwardsburg went 1-2.
Max Shreiner, Elkhart baseball
In a doubleheader sweep vs. South Bend Washington Saturday, the senior went 4-for-5 with a home run, a triple, a double, three RBIs, three walks and six runs scored.
Ava Walker, Elkhart softball
The junior went 6-for-8 with an RBI and a triple in two losses to Evansville North and Shelbyville Friday, then hit 5-for-9 with a home run, a double, a triple, five RBIs and four runs scored in two wins vs. Bedford North Lawrence and Eastern Hancock Saturday. Against Eastern Hancock, Walker hit for the cycle.
Drew Ginter, Mishawaka baseball
The senior went 3-for-8 with three runs scored, two doubles and an RBI in a Saturday doubleheader sweep vs. Westview. In the first game, Ginter pitched seven innings and struck out 14 batters while allowing three walks, two hits and two earned runs as the Cavemen beat the Warriors 4-2.
Karmen Frazier, Mishawaka softball
The senior went 4-for-4 with four runs scored, three RBIs and a double in a 10-5 win Saturday vs. Huntington North.
Cade Briones, Mishawaka Marian baseball
The Knights went 3-0 last week, beating Culver Academies 3-1 Thursday, South Bend Adams 9-1 Friday and Adams again 2-1 Saturday. This senior pitcher threw five innings Friday and struck out 10 batters, walked just one, allowed four hits and no earned runs.
Sullivan Kress, New Prairie baseball
The Saint Xavier University commit went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBIs and a run scored as the Cougars beat Edwardsburg Thursday. In a 5-3 win vs. South Bend Saint Joseph Tuesday, Kress threw four and 2/3 innings with 12 strikeouts, four walks, three hits and three earned runs. At the plate, he hit 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
In an 8-1 loss to the Huskies Wednesday, the senior went 0-for-3.
Mason Biernacki, Penn baseball
The sophomore scored two of the Kingsmen’s 10 runs by drawing two walks in the lead-off spot in a mercy rule victory vs. South Bend Riley Thursday. In a doubleheader sweep vs. Carmel Saturday, Biernacki hit 1-for-6 at the plate but drove in three runs, hit a double, scored once, walked once and was hit by a pitch.
He closed out both games against the Greyhounds, throwing three innings while striking out three, walking one, allowing one hit and no runs.
Logan Rumble, Penn softball
The senior was 3-for-3 with a homer, two walks and three RBIs in an 18-3 NIC win over South Bend Riley Thursday. She had a sacrifice fly in an 8-1 win vs. the Wildcats Wednesday.
In a 12-2 win vs Logansport Friday, Rumble went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. She hit 2-for-3 in the Kingsmen’s 14-3 loss to Daveiss County (Kentucky) Friday.
The Northwestern commit also had four hits and five RBIs in a 16-3 five inning win over Brownsburg and a hit and two RBIs in a 12-2 five inning win over Carmel Saturday.
Ben Shively, Plymouth baseball
As the Pilgrims went 2-1 with wins vs. LaVille and Fairfield and a loss to Saint Joseph, Shively hit 7-for-11 with six RBIs, four doubles, five runs scored, a walk and a hit by pitch.
Jersey Hunter, Hayden Shipley, Eva Macey, Alana Allen, Plymouth girls track
The quartet set a new school record in the 4×100 relay race in a time of 50.09 on April 11 during a meet versus Triton and Oregon-Davis.
Abigail Kadar, SB Adams softball
The sophomore pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts and one walk in a 10-0 five-inning NIC win over Mishawaka Marian Friday. Kadar also had three hits.
In a 12-2 win vs. the Knights Saturday, Kadar went 0-for-3.
Dellancy Jenkins, SB Riley softball
The sophomore went 6-for-8 in a doubleheader sweep vs. Kouts Saturday, hitting two home runs, eight RBIs, a double and a triple, while also scoring six runs.
Will Sollmann, SB Saint Joseph baseball
The freshman went 3-for-9 with his first career home run, three RBIs, three runs scored, a double and a hit by pitch as the Huskies beat New Prairie Tuesday, lost to the Cougars Wednesday and beat Plymouth Thursday.
Bella Esquibel, SB Saint Joseph softball
The junior allowed just one earned run in 12 innings of work as the Huskies won two games to win the Turtle Town Tournament at Churubusco. Esquibel had 14 strikeouts and had a home run and three RBIs in the pair of victories.
